Description sent by the project team. From the moment you start the trip you can notice the cool breezes accompanied by the smell of wild cypress that descend from the Northeast to the central valley, a path that takes us to a beautiful place called Fraijanes, where the Condómino housing project is located El Retiro, characterized by its cold winds and its remarkable view of the Poas volcano, a rural context that the client fell in love with from the moment he knew the place, so that the maximum use of sight became the generating element of the project, entitled "Views of the volcano".
As an architectural response to this characteristic, the design starts from the conformation of a cubic volume of semi-transparent double height of floor to sky oriented to the North, directed to the beautiful scenery that the landscape offers, where the social space of the dwelling is located. which integrates kitchen, living room and dining room.
The private spaces such as bedrooms and office of the dwelling are dynamically attracted around this generating cube, which allows different tension points between the spaces, emerging paths that circulate through the large panels of tempered green glass that not only invite the observer to look at the stage, but because of its magnitude flood the internal space where the context is integrated into daily life. The use of a clean architectural line of large volumes and few textures fit with a contemporary design typology of mountain dwelling. A conformation of architectural distribution was generated with an L-shaped layout,
It is the moment in which you enter the house that highlights the torrent of natural light that enters the lobby, which allows you to appreciate the use of various materials in their natural state such as volcanic stone, polished concrete and precious woods . The house is characterized by having few divisions which allow the view to escape and expand the space using large sliding doors that allow to open and interconnect the rooms.
The nucleus of cantilevered stairs acquires presence in the social space, generating a rhythm of lights and shadows that lead the viewer to the second level where we find the private space, where the bedrooms are located which are received with a cozy apartment in wood that improves the thermal sensation, which faces the coldest days of the rainy season.
